I just can’t find the right words to say I love you I just can’t find the right song to say it’s true Do you hear me I’m singing for you Would it matter at all that we’re through? Through it all I always loved you Through it all I always cared Knew that one day I would lose you Knew that one day I’d be scared I wish that I had just been there from the start I wish that I had been first to give my heart Do you feel me I’m dreaming of you Does it matter at all that we’re through? Through it all I always loved you Through it all I always cared Knew that one day I would lose you Knew that one day I’d be scared Through it all I always loved you Through it all I always cared Knew that one day I would lose you Knew that one day I’d be scared

Just an Hour 03:21
Even Just an Hour with you, It’s all that I need to see me through Sad to say goodnight so soon, Know it’s alright, we’re in tune Glad to see your face out there tonight, Glad to know that everything’s alright Miss the times when we could have the day, To spend together in our own way Every moment I share with you Is like flying, without trying And when life gives me the blues You’ll come hear me, and be near me I’ve noticed when you look my way, I run out of things I can say But you always make my day, When you tell me that you can stay Then sometimes you feel so far, Then closer when I play my guitar Promise that I’ll always come home, I’ll miss you more than I’ve ever known Every moment I share with you Is like flying, without trying And when life gives me the blues You’ll come hear me, and be near me Oh, I wonder if we’re meant to last Can our love be so vast, stretching from the past I reach out and touch your lips With my fingertips, and now I know, I know Even Just an Hour with you, It’s all that I need to see me through Sad to say goodnight so soon, Know it’s alright, we’re in tune Glad to see your face out there tonight, Glad to know that everything’s alright Miss the times when we could have the day, To spend together in our own way Every moment I share with you Is like flying, without trying And when life gives me the blues You’ll come hear me, and be near me

You can read me like a book With the Flicker of My Eye You understand my every look And catch my every sigh Can only be myself with you And I cannot tell a lie Cuz if I tried you’d see right through And how could I deny With the Flicker of My Eye You catch my every sigh I cannot tell a lie How could I deny The truth about our love is this, You know me better that the rest You fill my heart up with warm bliss, Complete me more than I’d have guessed How this insight into my soul What gave you this power To know my heart every part whole More with every hour With the Flicker of My Eye You catch my every sigh I cannot tell a lie How could I deny I love how you see right through me I love that you are always right I love that you’ve chosen to be The one that keeps me up at night I love how you see right through me I love that you are always right I love that you’ve chosen to be The one that keeps me up at night With the Flicker of My Eye You catch my every sigh I cannot tell a lie How could I deny With the Flicker of My Eye You catch my every sigh I cannot tell a lie How could I deny

Claim On You 03:51
I was lost from the moment I laid my eyes on you I was lost from the moment I laid my eyes on you You impressed me, then you undressed me I was lost from the moment I laid my eyes on you Who was I to ever think I had a Claim on You? Who was I to ever think I had a Claim on You? You know you lied, you hurt my pride Who was I to ever think I had a Claim on You? Thought I knew of all of the terrible things that you could do Thought I knew of all of the terrible things that you could do But my best friend, well that’s the end Thought I knew of all of the terrible things that you could do Went away ‘cause I never wanted to see your face again Went away ‘cause I never wanted to see your face again You’re a User, and a Loser Went away ‘cause I never wanted to see your face again My psyche’s scarred and it won’t let me forget the way you felt My psyche’s scarred and it won’t let me forget the way you felt You aren’t always mean, when you haunt my dreams My psyche’s scarred and it won’t let me forget the way you felt Who was I to ever think I had a Claim on You? Who was I to ever think I had a Claim on You? You know you lied, you hurt my pride Who was I to ever think I had a Claim on You? Thought I was awake but I wasn’t that’s why you came to me Thought I was awake but I wasn’t that’s why you came to me The anguish went once I caught your scent Thought I was awake but I wasn’t that’s why you came to me Life is good on the days when I never think of you Life is good on the days when I never think of you Sun’s still shining, better quit whining Life is good on the days when I never think of you

Red Shoes 02:52
Red Shoes, with a smile of seductive mystery Will take his blues away Dark eyes, with dimples that could melt her heart Will take her blues away But they be enemies to the highest of degrees Each has met their match and neither one’ll catch The other, or a partner, or a lover They’ll be alone One encounter with a dark man of power and intensity Can make her lose her way He’s a sucker for those shiny red heels, They’re the rod that reels him Until he’ll lose his way But they be enemies to the highest of degrees Each has met their match and neither one’ll catch The other, or a partner, or a lover, They’ll be alone Didn’t want no trouble, didn’t say no names, Didn’t wanna play no games But didn’t know their fate The day they discovered their destinies To be sworn enemies Oh how they learned to hate Cuz they be enemies to the highest of degrees Each has met their match and neither one’ll catch The other, or a partner, or a lover, They’ll be alone

Scarlet Scribbles on an overdrawn page, Leave me to wrap myself in shame. Rip these thoughts outta my head, Take these dreams, he can have them instead. Riotous ramblings from an overgrown boy, Nothing matters now only his new toy. Scarlet Scribbles on an overdrawn page, Leave me to wrap myself in shame. Let me remember how alone it all feels, Let me forget the same. Give me filthy credit on a piece of plastic sin, Roll me in security that's only found within. Draw a circle around the wasted passion of my soul, And find me lying down to my boots, never take control. Let me remember how alone it all feels, Let me forget the same.

Lovesick 04:21
You threw a party for your girl last night And she didn’t even bother to show. You gave her all your love with all your might And she left you feeling sad and low. Can’t get hung up even though your heart breaks On the one that got away. Tear your pain out let go of regrets, I guess she wasn’t meant to stay. But you can’t let her go now, you love her still. You never know just how Love Sick you are until… You planned a special night by candlelight And she didn’t even wanna come by. The last thing that you wanted to do was fight But she couldn’t look you in the eye. What’s she up to? Can you even trust her? Why play games that can’t be won? Gather courage, all that you can muster, Time to tell her that you’re done. Such a betrayal hits too hard, too many lies. She left you scarred and Love Sick, severed all ties. Now she’s gone and I am right beside you, But you never noticed me. Let her go and open up your eyes So that you can finally see. Can’t get hung up even though your heart breaks On the one that got away. Let her go and open up your eyes So that you can finally see.

My baby quit me on New Year’s Eve Left me speechless without a reprieve, Oh, Yeah He was my sickness he was my disease Yet he meant everything to me, Oh, Yeah Locked in a prison of my own design Seeking meaning I could not define Stumbling onward through another round Fumbling Forward though my hands were bound, Oh, Yeah There was only one way out Was time to wake up, no time for a bout, Oh, Yeah I’ll always love him, I won’t regret He gave me something I’ll never forget Midnight's kiss to say goodbye Dancing and singing as the corks fly Moments forever seared in my mind Very thankful that he was so kind Locked in a prison of my own design Seeking meaning I could not define Stumbling onward through another round Fumbling Forward though my hands were bound, Oh, Yeah

Call Me Up 04:22
Call Me Up when you are down, I’ll be there for you Tell me that you’ll be around, The whole day through I’ll be there when you’re not well, I’ll take care of you Even when you go through hell, I’ll try to help you through Pick me up when I’m on the ground, When I’m in pain Stick up for me when they put me down, I’ll pick you up when you’re on the ground, When you’re in pain Stick up for you when they put you down… You give me more than I could say, In such a short song You make me happy every day, You make me so strong I hope you love me the same way, To you I belong You know I would never stray, I would be so wrong There are days I feel alone, Though I’m with you I feel that facing the unknown, Is more than I can do But last night you held me near, It felt so true You took all my reasons to fear, And I wanna thank you Pick me up when I’m on the ground, When I’m in pain Stick up for me when they put me down, Ohh… I’ll pick you up when you’re on the ground, When you’re in pain Stick up for you when they put you down…

Ooooo, Oooooo Oh, where do I go? Oh, what do I do? To go on without you, Oh where do I stay? Oh what do I say? To get me through this day Ooooo, to get me through this day Oooooo Woke up the next day Still hurt the same way Can’t go on without you Those things that you said put thought in my head And filled my heart with dread Ooooo, you filled my heart with dread Oooooo How could we fail so fast, we just started? Love so good has to last we can’t be parted How could we scream and shout igniting a fight? How could we ever doubt we need that night? Ooooo, Oooooo Oh, where do I go? Oh, what do I do? To go on without you, Oh where do I stay? Oh what do I say? To get me through this day Ooooo, to get me through this day Oooooo

I love you but I gotta go I’m so sorry to tell you so, Oh oh I love you and you love me I wish that we were meant to be, Oh oh If I told you you’d just ask why I didn’t want that to be our goodbye When I saw you like a golden sun I knew for sure that you were the one Knew how to help me with my strife You made me want to live the Good Life I had always intended to stay Now I see it can’t be that way, Oh oh Oh I hope you don’t hurt too much Oh how I’m gonna miss you touch, Oh oh If you asked me I’d have to lie How could I tell you I had to die When I saw you like a golden sun I knew for sure that you were the one Knew how to help me with my strife You made me want to live the Good Life I love you but I gotta go I’m so sorry to tell you so, Oh oh I love you and you love me I wish that we were meant to be, Oh oh If I told you you’d just ask why I didn’t want that to be our goodbye

about

Anita Eccleston is a Kamloops-born, Vancouver-based bandleader; a vocalist and trumpet player performing music that ranges from traditional jazz standards to funk, soul, motown, reggae, blues, pop and originals. Whether she is backed by a large ensemble or small, her sultry, sweet yet bold voice coupled with her lyrical trumpet style, creates a unique continuity within her sound.

The new album, So It Goes is her third official release being preceded by her Jazz EP (2011) and Trio EP (2013). Her first offering of original music, carefully crafted over the last 3 years in 3 studios with over 20 musicians, it expresses her musical tastes and style, each track shining with distinctive brilliance.

As the debut for Anita Eccleston's original song writing, this record represents a spiritual journey through universal truths about real human relationships as we experience the complexities of love. Be it the sweet optimism of new love in “Just an Hour,” the heartfelt pledge of loyalty in the ballad “Call Me Up,” or the sting of unrequited love in the bluesy “Claim On You,” the songs weave a story to which we can all relate.

The whole LP exemplifies Anita's eclectic approach to style and arranging within her jazz vocal/trumpet sound expressing the spirit of each song in a unique way. The album closes with a simple farewell called “The Good Life,” a ukulele and cello duet conveying a sense of sorrow mingled with acceptance; so it goes.

The official release date was March 30 with the CD launch party being held at FanClub in Vancouver. Prior to that, So It Goes was available for pre-release through Eccleston’s successful Pledge Music campaign online.
